Can new bearings make a difference?
ABSOLUTELY!  All new karts come with new bearings. However, most used karts should have almost all their bearings replaced!  New bearings can subtract tenths from your time with old worn bearings!

How can I tell my bearings need to be replaced?
It's all about feel. After taking out whatever bearing you want to check, grasp the center ring with your hand (for axle bearings, put 3 fingers inside the center and spread them to hold it). With your other hand, turn the bearing. Is it completely free? If you feel ANY bumps or knocks, they are worn and need to be replaced!
