The long-awaited new dry clutch by Horstman is finally here!
The HDC-5
provides superior performance by lowering rotational inertia up to 30%.
Fact: Controlled horsepower engines benefit significantly from lower inertia
driveline components.
Since 20-lap main events are now commonplace, it is important to
have a clutch that will stay consistent from the green flag to the checkered
flag. The HDC-5 provides consistency from
extra thick clamping plates which prevent flexing and
absorb heat.
Five T-shape levers provide a firm,
smooth engagement while providing positive lockup on top-end. Plates are
vented to reduce weight and improve cooling. Horstman's in house cryogenic
clutch treatment to -310° is a significant advantage as components last
longer and run cooler.
The HDC-5A (one disc) model is made for Yamaha KT100 Jr.
Sportsman and Formula Y Jr.
The HDC-5B (two disc) model is made for Sr. Sportsman as well
as Jr or Sr. Super Sportsman where rules permit.
The clutch is secured with 5 socket head caps screws to make
disassembly less work. Components including floater are CNC machined in house
and precision ground from the best billet materials allowed by rules.
Billet cam action levers & springs are blueprinted and matched during
assembly.
